LEGAL
Terms of Use
The terms on which Vidyadhari AI provides LegalOpine and this website. Last updated: November 2026.
About these terms
These terms govern the use of LegalOpine and of this website (legalopine.in). LegalOpine is a proprietary software product owned and operated by Vidyadhari AI ("we", "us"). By signing in to or using LegalOpine you agree to these terms. If you use it for a law firm, you confirm that you are authorised to accept them for the firm.
1. The service
LegalOpine is software that helps advocates prepare legal opinions. It reads documents (OCR), suggests document types, arranges documents in date order, highlights missing particulars and possible risks, and helps draft opinions. Firms subscribe to one or more opinion modules on the plans described when they subscribe. Some features are offered in early access or beta, and may change as they are improved.
2. Not legal advice
LegalOpine does not give legal advice and is not a law firm. OCR text, document types, chain-of-title links, risk findings and drafts are produced by machines. They may be incomplete or wrong, especially for poor scans, handwriting and regional-language documents. The advocate using LegalOpine must check every output against the original documents. The advocate alone is responsible for any opinion given to a client, in line with their professional duties under the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules.
3. Accounts
• Firms are onboarded by us. A firm's owner may add staff and give clients portal logins.
• Keep your password confidential and change the temporary password at first sign-in. You are responsible for what is done through your login. Tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
• A firm is responsible for whom it gives access, and for removing access when a person leaves.
4. Your content
Documents and data that a firm or its clients upload ("Matter Data") remain theirs. The firm grants us only the rights needed to host, process and display Matter Data to provide LegalOpine. The firm confirms that it may lawfully upload the Matter Data and process it for the matter, including any personal data of third parties, and that it will meet its obligations as Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
• upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to process;
• try to reach another firm's data, probe or overload the service, or get around plan limits or security controls;
• copy, reverse-engineer, resell or build a competing product from LegalOpine; or
• use LegalOpine to facilitate fraud, such as forging or altering documents.
6. Plans, fees and limits
Plans may limit things such as team members, storage, matters, documents, OCR pages and opinions, within a module and for the firm as a whole. Demo plans are free, time-limited and may watermark opinions. Fees for paid plans are payable in advance, plus applicable GST. Fees already paid are not refundable unless the law requires it. We may change plans and prices for future billing periods with 30 days' notice.
7. Suspension and termination
A firm may stop using LegalOpine at any time. We may suspend or end access for non-payment, breach of these terms, or where the law requires it, with notice where practicable. After termination, a firm may export its Matter Data during the period stated in its subscription, after which it is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
LegalOpine, including its software, design, rules, reference data and documentation, and this website, are the proprietary property of Vidyadhari AI and are protected by copyright and other laws. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use LegalOpine while your subscription is active. "LegalOpine" and its marks may not be used without our written permission.
9. Availability and warranties
We work to keep LegalOpine available and secure, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on machine output without professional review. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the firm paid us for the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
11. Indemnity
A firm will indemnify us against claims arising from Matter Data it uploads without the right to do so, or from its breach of these terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The parties will first try to settle any dispute through good-faith discussion. Failing that, the dispute will be decided by the courts having jurisdiction over Vidyadhari AI's registered office.
13. This website
This website describes LegalOpine and lets you contact us. Its content is general information about the product, not legal advice, and features in early access or beta may change. When you send us an enquiry, the Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will post the new version here, with the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions may be sent to legal@legalopine.in.
